City of Stirling Reel was given to the Stirling & District RSCDS Branch by Roy Goldring after he taught at a very successful day school in 2005. Stirling was given city status as one of the 6 new millenium cities hence the name given to the dance. The tune, The Nether Bailey, was composed for the dance by Nicol McLaren of the Glencraig Band. The Nether Bailey is thought to be the oldest part of Stirling Castle.
