Devised by John Drewry for Bill Ireland, Vice-President & teacher of the London RSCDS Branch, to mark his
retirement from running their Demonstration Class for almost 40 years, and first danced at his party in
Wandsworth on 24th June 1989. “The Dancing Master” and “A Visit to Ireland” were the two Irish jig tunes used
by McBain’s Band.
Bill Ireland died in October 2002.
