The dance lists two recommended tunes: Tam’s Hunting Horn (I. Munro) and The Bugle Horn (trad.), and the
dance was devised for the first tune.
Peter McBryde lived in Waterloo, Ontario and was at one time the Chairman of TAC (Teachers’ Association
(Canada)) and also editor of TACTalk, the TAC newsletter. He is remembered for dreaming up catchy headlines
for articles, etc. and the (in)famous occasion when he headed the TAC Secretary’s column “Sec’sTalk”. As soon as
that edition was out, Peter’s phone was red-hot with complaints. Needless to say, that edition of TACTalk was the
first and last with that particular headline!
