This dance was dedicated to Marie Schwarz, who was travelling the world, on the occasion of her birthday in July 2010. The term "jet set" is attributed to Igor Cassini, a reporter for the New York Journal-American who wrote under the pen name "Cholly Knickerbocker" and referred to an international social group of wealthy people who travelled the world (1958 onwards) from one stylish or exotic place to another via the newly invented “jet plane” to participate in social activities unavailable to ordinary people. Although the literal meaning of “jet set” i.e. those who travel by jet, is no longer relevant, it continues to be used to refer to those who have the independent wealth and time to travel frequently and widely for pleasure.
