The Pinewoods Collection (Vol 2) is published by the RSCDS Boston Branch and contains 32 dances. There are 3 others by Tony Moretti and the book also includes Just For Fun by Jeanetta McColl. Pinewoods is a traditional dance and music camp, located in a pine forest between Long Pond and Round Pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It has four custom-built dance pavilions, rustic cabins, swimming in two clear water lakes, an open-air dining hall that looks out over the pond, and a cozy camphouse for gatherings. Dance and music sessions are held here from the end of May through to September. They include both weekend and week-long sessions, and are for dancers and/or musicians with any level of experience. Most sessions are for adults, and some include families as well. Programming during these weeks is provided by one of four "user groups": Country Dance and Song Society; Country Dance Society - Boston Centre; Folk Arts Center of New England; and RSCDS Boston Branch. RSCDS Boston Branch say: People come from all over to enjoy the connection of dance and music, and there is wonderful live music at all the classes and the dances each evening. One could call it an "extreme dance experience" because there is dancing available from morning 'til midnight every day, whether you choose to attend only one or more of the Scottish Dance classes. Instead of going back to your room and collecting ice from a machine after an evening full of wonderful dancing, imagine strolling down to one of the ponds and taking a wee dip to relieve aching muscles! There are also many opportunities to enjoy the people you meet there. There are theme parties to stretch your imagination as well as wine and cheese parties and after parties just to enjoy all your new friends. There are money raising auctions that leave you with aching cheeks from laughter, and Ceilidhs that draw across the talent and imagination of everyone there. All in all it is one of those experiences that is hard to leave and return to hum-drum life at home.
