THE DALSTON JIG (J4x40)  Pat Harland  TSC 1  1- 8 1s & 3s cast off, turn RH, 1s cast to 4 th  place whilst 3s lead up to 2 nd  place  2 3 4 1  9-16 2s & 4s repeat, finishing facing up & down on sides  3 4 1 2 17-20 3s+4s & 1s+2s set advancing past each other by LSh, 3s+2s set advancing past each other by LSh, whilst 4s & 1s set and face in 4 2 3 1 21-24 4s+2s & 3s+1s RH across 25-32 4s cross RH and cast off, 2s stepping up, then repeat with 3s stepping up 33-40 Circle to left for 6 steps, pivot pulling back RSh, chase back to places
Pat devised this dance for her daughter’s 40th birthday and it tells the story of a school day in Dalston - taking the children to school, shopping in the market & visiting various shops before meeting up again outside the school gates in the afternoon and returning home.
